What is RFID?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It is a method that captures, stores and retrieves data using devices called RFID tags. The RFID tag can be on a small adhesive sticker that is attached to a product. These RFID tags contain antennas that enable them receive and respond to radio-frequencies.

RFID applications are being implemented and envisioned in virtually every industry.

Why use RFID and not UPC bar-codes?

RFID tags have many important advantages over UPC bar-codes. RFID codes are long enough that every RFID tag may have a unique code, while UPC codes are limited to a single code for all instances of a particular product. Also, with RFID tags, a product may be individually tracked as it moves from location to location, finally ending up in the consumer's hands. And most importantly, RFID does not have to be seen to be read, the readers do it for you.

What is the difference between an inlay and a label?

An inlay is the part of a label that contains the chip that is attached to an antenna. If an adhesive is added it is called a wet inlay. If not, then it is called a dry inlay.

What is the difference between HF and UHF?

HF (high frequency) works at 13.56 MHz. UHF (ultra high frequency) is at 860 - 960 MHz. Generally the operating range for HF is less than 12" while UHF can operate at significantly longer distances. There are also differences in performance related to the types of products the inlays or labels are attached to and the operating environment.

What is IC-TAG's return policy?

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly accept returns within 10 days of the original ship date for store credit only. IC-TAG Solutions will refund the cost of the media merchandise minus 20% restocking fee and any applicable shipping fees if the return is made on time.

All products, including IC-TAG Media, have to be in the original condition received, and shipped back with original packaging and labeling. Please contact our Customer Service at (708) 430-4190 to obtain Return Manufacturer Authorization Number (RMA #) and shipping address prior to your return.

What is IC-TAG's exchange policy?

We accept exchanges up to 10 days from the original ship date. This applies to stock products only. If you would like to make an exchange, please note that you are responsible for all shipping costs to and from IC-TAG Solutions.

Please contact our Customer Service to obtain RMA# and return shipping address prior to your exchange. In order to process an exchange, the media product has to be in the condition it was received and shipped back with original packaging and labeling. If the replacement product is not in stock, we will notify you by email.

Is there a warranty on the products?

IC-TAG Solutions warrants our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of shipment, if properly installed for the purpose for which they are intended. IC-TAG's liability is limited to the replacement of the product, or a refund to the original purchaser of the original purchase price.

IC-TAG Media warranty is 1 year from the date of shipment, when stored at optimal operating conditions of 68°F and 50% relative humidity. As the products are used outside of IC-TAG's control, IC-TAG Solutions cannot take responsibility for any damage which may be caused using IC-TAG's products. It is customer's responsibility to determine material suitability prior to actual use.
